HTC unveiled One Max with Fingerprint Sensor Feature

After numerous leaks over the past couple of month, HTC One Max was the phone that everyone was looking forward to.<br />
HTC finally has unveiled its HTC One Max phone, and guess what? There
 is a Fingerprint Sensor too – a trend started by Motorola by 
introducing it in its Atrix phone, which has recently embraced by Apple in its Iphone 5S.<br />
Beside the fingerprint sensor, the One Max is notably the same thing 
the techies were anticipating, including first true “phablet” features, a
 humongous 5.9-inch high definition screen.<br />
The device also has 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor (same as in the One), 2GB of RAM, and it runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Sense UI on top.<br />
The One Max is radically a large version of the HTC One, released 
earlier this year, but few gripping changes have been made. Firstly, the
 back cover of One Max is removable, and as aforementioned, there’s a 
fingerprint sensor on the back of the phone that lets the user unlock 
the phone.<br />
Besides unlocking, Fingerprint sensor could also be used to access 
various applications by assigning unique Finger for each of the App. 
Miserably, there doesn’t seem to be any functionality to enter your 
fingerprint as a password like you do in the iPhone 5s.<br />
The phone is also running HTC’s new Sense 5.5 software. Sense 5.5 
allows you to further customize HTC’s BlinkFeed menu and offers 
integration with services like Instagram and Google+.<br />
The removable back cover will let you insert a microSD card for up to
 64GB. However, You can’t remove the 3,300mAh battery, although HTC is 
offering an additional Power Flip case with a built-in 1150mAh battery.<br />
One implied deadfall on HTC’s One Max is its weight. The One Max 
peaks the scales at a staggering 217 grams. Yes, you get a very big 
screen, but Samsung has already showed that it can create a 5.7-inch 
phone at 168 grams, which in my view is a lot more portable.<br />
Other than that, this phone is pretty much the same thing as HTC One,
 with the same UltraPixel rear camera and BoomSound front-facing 
speakers.<br />
The new device will compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG G2 and the upcoming Nokia phablet.<br />

The company has not revealed the price of the new model yet, but has 
announced that it will be launched in Asia and Europe in October and the
 US in November.<br />
It merits mentioning that HTC has recently posted its first loss on 
record last quarter, and might be planning to cover it by HTC One Max 
phone. However, it’s just a matter of time that we will find out.</div>

‘Un-verified SIMs’ in Islamabad</span></div>
The Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) are cognizant of the security 
situation in the country and have been and are more than willing to work
 with the government on it.<br />
In this regard they are actively working with government in deployment of biometric SIM verification mechanism across the country.<br />
This was discussed during a recent meeting of CMOs with the Minister 
of State for Information Technology Ms. Anusha Rehman Khan where 
representatives of Ministry of Interior, FIA and PTA were also present.<br />
The meeting was also briefed by CMOs of their major and 
transformational contribution in economic development of Pakistan. 
Mobile telecommunication is the largest tax collecting and paying 
sector. The total contribution of the telecom sector to national 
exchequer for financial year 2011-12 was Rs. 133 billion.<br />
This is in addition to the billions paid as other fees and levies to 
the federal and provincial governments and their concerned authorities.<br />
Furthermore, it was added that the CMOs are making a significant 
contribution towards the overall economy of the country by making over 
USD 10 billion overall Investment made till date.<br />
Moreover, the industry has also created a total of around 1.4M direct and indirect jobs in the country.<br />
Besides its socio-economic contribution, the cellular industry has 
also always been at the forefront in terms of cooperation with the 
government and security agencies in national security matters by 
investing in that area as per the government and law enforcement 
agencies requirements the meeting was informed.<br />
The CMOs also lauded the role of Minister of State for Information 
Technology and Telecommunications Ms. Anusha Rehman for addressing key 
industry issues in a timely manner and for facilitating the meeting at a
 short notice today.<br />
The CMOs also expressed some concerns over recent adverse statements 
appearing in the press. The Minister of State reiterated the stance of 
the government to continue providing investment friendly environment and
 restore the confidence of the investors in the ICT sector, without 
making any compromise on national security.<br />
The meeting was briefed by the PTA Chairman Dr. Ismail Shah on the 
status of pending unverified SIMs in line with SoP prescribed by PTA for
 re-verification of SIMs. He informed that the process is in final stage
 and will be completed by 30<sup>th</sup> October 2013.<br />

It merits mentioning here that government and courts recently pressed
 the cellular companies for illegal SIMs. Peshawar High Court even 
issued bail-able arrest warrants of CEOs of telecom companies.</div>

Samsung has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Sindh 
TEVTA (Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority) to 
establish training labs in Karachi.</div>

This ‘hands-on’ lab training will enable students to gain the 
necessary experience and technical skill to seek employment 
opportunities.</div>

According to the MOU, Samsung Pakistan will provide electronic 
products to Sindh TEVTA exclusively for educational and training 
purposes. The students at Sindh TEVTA will be deemed competent to use 
these products by the TEVTA faculty.</div>

Samsung Pakistan will also from time to time provide further 
assistance by teaching and training the faculty at TEVTA by conducting 
specialized workshops and seminars. Further to this, detailed technical 
training manuals shall also be provided to the staff to enrich the 
teaching experience.</div>

for its employees by announcing an extra holiday (on Friday) to further 
sweeten their Eid.<br />
Ufone announced a holiday on Friday 18<sup>th</sup> Oct 2013 for its employees to extend Eid Holidays to 4 days instead of just the three that have been announced<br />
According to an internal notification the Eid holidays at Ufone would
 begin tomorrow on October 15th, 2013 and continue until October 18, 
adding that business as usual at Ufone will resume on Monday October 21<sup>st</sup> 2013<br />
Not only this, probably Ufone is the only telco that has paid 50 
percent advance salary to its staff before Eid as well. We wish this 
will reduce the worries of the inflation hit employees to best enjoy 
their Eid ceremonials and Qurbani on Eid-ul-Adha.<br />
If sources are to be believed than this was made possible by the 
Ufone HR department, which took the lead to get these Eid presents 
approved for the employees.<br />
As they say, “Happy employees means happy customers”, and these are 
such steps that companies should take to make sure that employees are 
contented with their jobs and the professions.</div>
