While you can technically run Android apps in Chrome OS, you're currently limited to one of four apps. The methods in the rest of this article will run alternative apps by spoofing the signed key on those apps, but if you want to run any app you'd like, download ARChon. Here's how:</div>

Canonical may have failed to meet the crowd-funding goals for the ambitious Ubuntu Edge but that hasn’t prevented them from coming into the smartphone market with other partners.<br />

The company has announced that the first phones running on its Ubuntu Touch OS will hit the market later this year.<br />
The first manufacturers who will get this honour will be Meizu and BQ
 Readers. Those are both small, aspiring manufacturers but the company 
promises that more establish names will take notice in 2015.<br />

The reason, as cited by the founder Mark Shuttleworth in choosing 
these amateur players of the industry is because of their stronghold in 
rising territories.<br />

The initial phones are said to come with latest hardware, while the 
OS itself will get support from the makers of top 50 apps on other 
platforms.<br />

sapphire crystal, a surface which could be scratched only by diamonds. 
The phone is made by “cool, textured amorphous metal” metal.<br />

Acquiring Instagram less than a year ago for $1 billion has 
apparently not fulfilled Facebook’s hunger for highly-prized social 
networks, as the company announces that it will be buying the 
widely-acclaimed instant-messaging app Whatsapp for a mind-blowing $16 
billion. (That’s $9 billion more for what Microsoft paid for Nokia, just
 in case you were wondering for a company that has only 50 employees).<br />

Whatsapp will continue to operate independently after the deal is closed, and won’t be merged with Facebook’s companion apps.<br />

Facebook will be co-operating with Whatsapp to make it grow further in the future.<br />

Given Facebook’s lust for ads, it is quite relieving to hear that the
 app won’t be interrupted with any of them whatsoever, as confirmed by 
Whatsapp CEO Jan Koum. We are not so sure whether that will the case, 
for say, five years later.<br />

Whatsapp is already a giant in its own right, with 450 million users 
monthly active users, of which 70% are daily active users too. And with 1
 million people signing up everyday, it is growing blazingly fast. The 
news also comes less than a week after <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2014/02/viber-sold-out-for-900-million-to-japan.html" target="_blank">Viber got acquired for less than a billion dollars</a>.<br />

Instead, money will be made based on how many people use the app. It currently charges an annual subscription fee $1 per user.<br />

The State Minister was chairing a meeting last Friday to review the final Draft of Prevention of E-Crimes Bill 2014 .<br />

Mr. Akhlaq A. Tarrar, Secretary IT,Amir Malik  Member (IT), Mr. Yasir
 Qadir, Member (Telecom) and representatives from Ministry of law, PTA, 
FIA and representative of ISPAK, PASHA and Barrister Zahid Jamil were 
also present in the meeting.<br />

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the final draft of The 
Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill before its submission to the 
cabinet expected early this week.<br />

This cyber crime bill was long pending as country was running without
 any legislation available for the crimes committed over internet.<br />

NR3C – a law enforcement agency that works under FIA and look after 
cyber crimes in the country — will be empowered to deal with all cyber 
crimes once the much-awaited Electronic Crime Bill is passed.<br />

Currently NR3C relies on Pakistan Penal Code and various other 
regulations that don’t give the agency enough ability to peruse cyber 
crimes.<br />

It must be noted that after Cyber Crime bill is passed, masses are 
likely to remain unsafe. As only law is not not we require in Pakistan, 
instead awareness amongst the masses and more vigilance from NR3C and 
its collaboration with internet companies is mandatory to minimize the 
chances of Cyber Crimes in the country.</div>

Rakuten, a Japan based online retailer, has said that it has bought 
Viber – a phone messaging and call service – for USD 900 million.<br />

Rakuten has plans to integrate Viber with its digital products while a game platform on Viber is also on the cards.<br />

Rakuten is controlled by Japanese billionaire Hiroshi Mikitani, who 
believes that e-commerce will become a more communication-based 
transaction in future.<br />

The acquisition is being financed through bank borrowing and is expected to close in March, Rakuten said.<br />

Rakuten is a business to consumer shopping portal that connects

toys, electronics and clothing. Rakuten had a market-share of 27.7 
percent for Japan’s Internet retailing market as of December 2013.<br />

With Viber on board, Rakuten plans to capitalize from free messaging,
 paid stickers and gaming potential to expand its current base of about 
225 million members, said Rakuten.<br />

“There was a sense that we can accelerate the growth of our company 
by tapping into Rakuten’s user base in various countries,” Viber Chief 
Executive Officer Talmon Marco said. “We would be able to continue to 
build Viber, continue to maintain the mentality and speed of a startup

Sony’s original NEX-6 DSLR is probably one of our favourite cameras 
of all time. Getting a sophisticated package in an outfit which is only 
just bigger than one of the heftier point-and-shoots still feels like a 
dream today.<br />

While we still live in that dream, Sony has done us a favour by announcing its successor, the A6000.<br />

The new mirrorless Sony A6000 camera comes with a 24.3 megapixel 
APS-C sensor and a BIONZ X processor, a combination which results in the
 world’s fastest autofocus with a lag of just 0.06 seconds. Continuous 
shooting speeds also reach 11 fps, with tracking AF. Sony A6000 also has
 as many as 179 focal points. ISO levels can reach up to ISO 25,600.<br />

Towards the back of Sony A6000 there lies an OLED viewfinder and a 3″
 movable touchscreen. A pop-up flash reveals itself from the top. The 
A6000 is also capable of shooting Full HD videos at up to 60p. So no 4K 
but most people won’t mind that.<br />

The new image processor assists during low-light photography.<br />

The camera supports file transfers via Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC and HDMI. The
 design is quite similar to the NEX-6 but the button layout is a bit 
different. There is a bit more premium feel to it than before and the 
camera itself is slightly larger.<br />

As for the price, the A6000 is substantially cheaper than the NEX-6, 
starting at $650 for just the body, and $800 with Sony’s 16-50mm lens. 
Compared to that, the camera it replaces cost $1000 initially so the 
deal doesn’t sound too bad to us.</div>

The Minister of State for IT, Ms. Anusha Rahman chaired a meeting to 
review the progress of PSDP IT Project regarding the deployment of 
e-office system for at least 28 federal ministries. The meeting was 
attended by Additional Secretary (IT), Azmat Ali Ranjha, DG (PCB) and 
senior officials of MoIT and PCB. <br />

DG (PCB) apprised the Minister regarding the progress of e-office 
project at length. In this regard, multiple teams have been constituted 
in accordance with the nature of tasks and relevant to the human 
resource expertise.
<br />
The DG (PCB) told the minister that acquisition of Data Centre 
Facility for e-Office Hosting, signing of contract for e-office and 
middle software with the vendors, gathering and analysis of ministries 
for configuration of basic parameters for the said system has already 
completed.
<br />
The Federal Ministries/Divisions have nominated their Focal 
Persons to liaison with PCB team for the implementation of the system 
simultaneously in their respective Ministries/Divisions. Moreover, above
 75% network connectivity of Federal Ministries/Divisions through 
Optical Fiber Ring has been tested successfully.
<br />
The master trainers are imparting the capacity building training 
to the trainers who will further train the employees of the Federal 
Government on e-office system to cater optimum results. The e-office 
system is already functional in Prime Minister Office, National Assembly
 Secretariat and Ministry of Information Technology.
<br />
The Minister directed to establish an IT Service Management Cell 
to register and address the issues of the end users of the system. She 
further expressed that the said system will be a key tool to ensure 
efficiency, accuracy, effectiveness, good governance, transparency, and 
accountability in decision making.
<br />
The Minister further added that the indigenous technological 
industry has been utilized for the development and implementation of 
e-office system to encourage the local industry and to maximize the 
usage of local IT HR as per the vision of the present government.</div>

Panasonic has announced the world’s first interchangeable lens 
mirrorless camera that can record 4K videos. The DMC-GH4 comes with a 
16.05 megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor with a new Venus Engine Image 
processor that promise great stills.<br />
But it’s the video department which is the star of the show. The 
DMC-GH4 can shoot in Cinema 4K resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels at 24 
fps or QFHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30 fps and 100Mbps 
bitrate.<br />

The DMC-GH4 further houses a pop-up flash, a 2360K dot OLED EVF and a
 3 inch OLED display. Autofocus speeds are also faster than its 
predecessors at 0.07 seconds while the shutter longevity is will make it
 live for at least 200,000 shots.<br />
Wi-Fi, NFC and HDMI transfers are supported. Battery life is quoted 
at 500 shots. For shooting some professional stuff, you’ll need at least
 a UH3 Class 3 SD card because anything lesser is a no-go.<br />
Pricing and availability details are unavailable right now but the 
DMC-GH4 can play an important role in elevating 4K to the masses.</div>

Apple’s second founder and a man known for his outspoken love of 
everything tech, Steve Wozniak thinks that Apple should also go Android.<br />

He said that people are known for showering their love for Apple and they’ll flock to buy Apple’s phone in large numbers too.<br />

There’s nothing that would keep Apple out of the Android market as a 
secondary phone market,” he said. “We could compete very well. People 
like the precious looks of stylings and manufacturing that we do in our 
product compared to the other Android offerings. We could play in two 
arenas at the same time.”<br />

Of course, that simply sounds impossible especially it is iOS itself 
that makes Apple so distinctive. Wouldn’t it be a tough thing to see an 
Apple product crash more often?<br />

Wozniak also doesn’t think that Apple has lost its “cool” factor just
 yet as the company prepares itself to introduce “new product 
categories” in the near future.<br />

He remained a critic of Samsung however. “If you have something 
really good, don’t change it; don’t screw it up,” the lost co-founder 
said. “You pick up a Samsung phone and say smile and it takes a picture,
 but how much innovation is that? That’s just throwing in a lot of 
features. People don’t really choose their smartphones based on 
features”.</div>

Microsoft Pakistan held an exclusive event for Pakistani corporate

The agency of the United States Department of Defense which is responsible for funding the development of many technologies, <i>Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)</i> has <a href="https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&tab=core&id=41304fc8f8cfcf93b758886c5705ab6b" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">handed </a>over a contract to IBM for creating a microchip that will self-destruct remotely.<br />

The project announced a year back, known as <b>Vanishing Programmable Resources (<a href="http://www.darpa.mil/Our_Work/MTO/Programs/Vanishing_Programmable_Resources_%28VAPR%29.aspx" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">VAPR</a>)</b>,
 which is dedicated to developing a CMOS microchip that self-destructs 
when it receives a certain frequency of radio  signal from military 
command, in order to fully destroy it and  preventing it from being used
 by the enemy.

The U.S. Military uses all kinds of embedded systems and there are 
obviously concerns about American technology falling into the wrong 
hands. If Iran shoots a drone out of the sky, there could be all sorts 
of sensitive data and bleeding-edge technology that could then be 
collected, analyzed, and reverse-engineered.</div>

"<i>It is nearly impossible to track and recover every device, resulting
 in an unintended accumulation in the environment and potential 
unauthorized use and compromise of all intellectual property and 
technological advantage,</i>” DARPA states.<br />

This target will be achieved by using a fuse or a reactive metal layer  
initiate shattering when ‘glass substrate’ receives an external Radio  
Frequency (RF) signal. Once broken, the material would render the 
device's silicon chip into dust.</div>

Google has included Pakistan in the list of supported countries for showing local currency for Google Play products.<br />

After this, Google’s Play Store is now showing prices for apps  for 
users in Pakistan in Pakistani rupees, which will mean that Pakistani 
users can now make regular app purchases and in-app purchases in local 
currency.<br />

Move will not only benefit users but will also let the local developers to set the prices for their apps in local currency.<br />

 – will deduct app prices in local currency for any purchases made in 
Pakistan regardless of developers’ default Price and Currency.<br />

With local pricing, users will be able to save currency conversation 
charges. Minimum price for any app on Play Store is set at Rs. 105 and 
can go up to Rs. 21,000.<br />

Android Users in Pakistan have confirmed RexHacker that they are 
already seeing prices for apps on Play Store in Pakistan rupees.</div>

An audio-enabled email platform has been developed by researchers at 
the Technical University of Berlin that will allow users to transport 
messages using specific sounds and without any device.<br />

Messages will come whizzing and flying directly above the users head 
like birds and users can choose which message to listen to and which to 
discard. These sounds (read emails) will be heard by specific 
individuals only that is only by the recipients.<br />

Fully functional test was performed by creating a ring of 56 speakers
 in a hall, 16 gesture-recognition cameras and most importantly the 
hyper-intelligent audio-processing algorithms with which special sounds 
were created by targeting specific individuals.<br />

This technology, along with transmitting voice emails, tweets, social
 updates can be used for countless and unusual purposes, such as 
restaurants will be able to music that only certain tables can hear<em>.</em><br />

waves with constructive or destructive interference”.<br />
