The smartphone, which is basically a Z10 underneath just crafted by Porsche Design costs $2400 and will be available by the end of November. You can’t get one though.<br /> With only 500 ever to be made, the P’9982 comes in a much more luxurious package (box seems to be an inappropriate word here), which also contains a certificate of authentication and a BBM pin code, which upon entering displays a special icon on your profile, shouting to your world your incredible achievement (and flamboyant lifestyle). <br /> Beneath the Porsche Design goodness – which consists of a first-grade satin-finished stainless steel design – lies the usual stuff: a 1.5Ghz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8960 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 64 GB worth internal storage, which is expandable by up to 64 GB. The last of these two specs are improvements but that’s about it.  <br /> 8 megapixel camera, capable of shooting 1080p video can be found at the back but we naturally believe you won’t use it often. Apart from the 4G LTE connectivity, there isn’t much to right home about. <br /> Lastly, for those of you who still find the P’9982 an average-looking phone, there will also be an even more limited (and bonkers) crocodile-leather model. <br /> Still, in these times of uncertainty and worries, a normal mind always wonders what compelled BlackBerry to made <i>this</i>. <br /> It’s a good thing that they made only 500 units. Good for humanity, good for them.</div>

Lack of quality apps and high price have plagued the sales of the OS and as the market has become more and more saturated with time, there’s really not that much of a need for another mobile OS.<br /> Still, the company has taken to the challenge by announcing its 4th smartphone running BB10 called the Z30. The smartphone isn’t radically different from the Z10 and comes with a larger display and SnapDragon S4 Pro processor.<br /> The design of the phone is based on the Z10 and comes with no hardware buttons at the front. The 5 inch 720p display takes up a large part of it with the speaker, front 2 mp HD camera and a notification LED at the top. The display is a Super AMOLED panel.<br /> The processor inside is of Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 Pro variety, clocked at 1.7Ghz. It’s followed by 2 GB of RAM, Adreno 320 GPU and 16 GB of storage, which also happens to be expandable this time.<br /> The camera at the back is the same 8 megapixel unit with LED Flash and 1080p Full HD video. For connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi and LTE are used.<br /> There are some minor changes compared to the previous smartphones though. Running OS version 10.2, it comes with BB Priority Hub which is BlackBerry’s take on Gmail’s Priority Inbox and this time, the BB10 messages can be sent without having to close the current running app. Incoming messages can be seen directly from the lockscreen, while support for Wi-Fi Direct and multiple alarms is also home.<br /> The 10.2 update is coming to the Q10 and Z10 smartphones in October.<br /> Here are the full specs of the BlackBerry Z30:<br /> <ul> <li>BlackBerry 10.2 OS running</li> <li>5 inch 720p display with 1280 x 720 resolution</li> <li>9.4mm thick</li> <li>1.7Ghz Qualcomm SnapDragon S4 Pro, Adreno 320</li> <li>2 GB RAM with 16GB expandable storage</li> <li>8 megapixel back-camera with LED Flash, f2.2 aperture and 1080p Full HD video recording</li> <li>2 megapixel HD front-camera</li> <li>Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE</li> <li>2880 mAh battery</li> </ul> The phone is expected to hit the markets in the coming few weeks. Instead of going for the top and challenging its rivals, it is now searching for viable ways to make a smooth comeback. And for its survival.<br /> On Monday, it made a special board committee consisting of its CEO and some other important people including those from its board and J.P. Morgan.<br /> The committee joined their heads together for “possible joint ventures, strategic partnerships or alliances, a sale of the company or other possible transactions”.<br /> As a result, the shares of the company soared by over 10%.<br /> Prem Watsa of Fairfax Financial, the company which holds the most shares of BlackBerry also resigned citing conflict of opinions that could’ve emerged during this process.<br /> It’s sad though that even after the release of the BB10 OS, which the company thought would be life-saving, failed terribly in achieving success.<br /> BlackBerry’s market-share lies at a measly 3.7 percent currently.</div>
