By tearing down the 5S, Chipworks was able to determine that the chip was made using Samsung’s 28nm high-k metal gate technology. It had been rumoured that the SoC would be produced by TSMC instead of Samsung, but it would seem that isn’t the case.<br /> As far as the Camera Sensor is concerned, Apple has progressed with a “new variant” of the Sony sensor, according to iFixit teardwon.<br /> “The markings are consistent with the markings on the camera modules housing the Sony IMX145 we saw in the iPhone 4s and on the iPhone 5. The marks on the side of the module are different, but our industry insiders tell us this is Sony’s again. Pricing of the new iMacs starts at $1299 and goes all the way to $1999.<br /> The new 21.5 inch model now comes with a 4th-generation 2.7Ghz quad-core Intel Core i5 Haswell processor (Turbo Boost speed of up to 3.2Ghz) along with Iris Pro GPU.<br /> The Wi-Fi is also updated to the new standard 802.11ac. The base model goes for $1299. If you want, however, you’ll also be able to obtain a model with 2.9Ghz quad-core Core i5 processor (Turbo boost speed of up to 3.6Ghz) and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics for $1499.<br /> As for the 27 inch model, it will now come with a 4th-generation 3.2Ghz Intel Core i5 Haswell processor (with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.6Ghz) and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics for the starting model which will cost $1799.<br /> Also if you will, you can obtain a top-of-the-line model 27 inch model with a 3.4Ghz Intel Core i5 Haswell processor (with Turbo Boost speeds of up to 3.8Ghz) and Nvidia GeForce GTX 775M graphics with 4 GB video memory for $1999.<br /> Both of the iMacs come with 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage by default but those can be upgraded to 32 GB and 3 TB respectively. (Still, the Canadian company did end up in Canadian hands.)<br /> Fairfax Financial had already held around 10% of BlackBerry’s shares previously. Stockholders will be receiving $9 per share as a part of this deal which will take the company private.<br /> The deal – which is final – is still pending some regulatory requirements as the parties involved will be subjected to six weeks of due diligence, until the 4th of November.<br /> The news might have been a bit of a surprise to hear sometime ago but not now as only yesterday we reported that Blackberry was eyeing a $1 billion loss this quarter and was cutting its workforce by 40 percent.<br /> It’s incredibly ironical as only about half a decade ago, BlackBerry was worth a staggering $100 billion. After the iPhone, its sales actually increased a bit but dived headfirst towards the ground later, a reaction to which is the news you’re reading right now.<br /> Prem Watsa, the Chairman and CEO of Fairfax Financial had something to say however: “We believe this transaction will open an exciting new private chapter for BlackBerry, its customers, carriers and employees,” he said.<br /> “We can deliver immediate value to shareholders, while we continue the execution of a long-term strategy in a private company with a focus on delivering superior and secure enterprise solutions to BlackBerry customers around the world.”</div>
