management executives along with the workforce in direct interaction

A statement issued by the company said that the exercise helped bring
 Telenor Pakistan’s employees closer to the customers making them better
 equipped to understand customers’ needs and expectations.</div>

On this occasion, Lars Christian Iuel, Chief Executive Officer, 
Telenor Pakistan said, “Customers should experience that they are our 
first priority whenever they use our products and services. To be 
successful in delivering that experience we must believe in and live in a
 customer centric environment, and our employees can only deliver the 
best customer experience when they are engaged with them. Engagement 
like the Customer First Day does not only provide direct interaction 
opportunity with the customers but also reflects as to how our values 
can be leveraged to further improve the customer experience.”</div>

The day-long activities were kicked off by the address of the CEO and
 then the top management executives along with other employees headed 
out to various locations in all the major cities interacting with the 
customers and collecting their valuable feedback.</div>

mobile internet bundles were also distributed among customers during the
 field visits and at Sales & Service Centres across the country. The
 activity concluded with regional events in Karachi, Lahore and

Apple has just updated the its current lineup of iMacs by adding more
 muscle under the hood. The new models come with better CPUs, GPUs and 
Wi-Fi. Pricing of the new iMacs starts at $1299 and goes all the way to 
$1999.<br />
The new 21.5 inch model now comes with a 4th-generation 2.7Ghz 
quad-core Intel Core i5 Haswell processor (Turbo Boost speed of up to 
3.2Ghz) along with Iris Pro GPU.<br />
The Wi-Fi is also updated to the new standard 802.11ac. The base 
model goes for $1299. If you want, however, you’ll also be able to 
obtain a model with 2.9Ghz quad-core Core i5 processor (Turbo boost 
speed of up to 3.6Ghz) and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics for $1499.<br />
As for the 27 inch model, it will now come with a 4th-generation 
3.2Ghz Intel Core i5 Haswell processor (with Turbo Boost speeds of up to
 3.6Ghz) and Nvidia GeForce GT 750M graphics for the starting model 
which will cost $1799.<br />
Also if you will, you can obtain a top-of-the-line model 27 inch 
model with a 3.4Ghz Intel Core i5 Haswell processor (with Turbo Boost 
speeds of up to 3.8Ghz) and Nvidia GeForce GTX 775M graphics with 4 GB 
video memory for $1999.<br />
Both of the iMacs come with 8 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage by 
default but those can be upgraded to 32 GB and 3 TB respectively. The 
latest update has also brought support for new PCIe-based flash storage 
which is 50% faster than before.<br />

standards in the field of HR. PTCL’s integral HR initiatives and 
practices were acknowledged as the best in the telecom industry.<br />
PTCL Executive Vice President (EVP) Talent Management & Learning,
 Shahzad Safdar Khan received the award on behalf of the company from 
senior parliamentarian, Mir Hazar Khan Bijrani. The award is recognition
 of the company’s Human Resource (HR) practices and dynamic initiatives 
undertaken for organizational development and talent nurturing &

Federal government is finally all prepared to appoint three members 
of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, sources familiar with the 
matter confirmed RexHacker.<br />
For the purpose candidates were interviewed for the slots of Member Finance, Member Technical and Member Compliance as per job advertisement published on June 14th, 2013.<br />
If sources are to be believed then selection commission has finalized
 three names to be sent to cabinet division for approvals before the 
final appointment are to be made by Prime Minister next Monday after his
 return from USA visit.<br />
Unconfirmed reports suggest that commission has recommended Mr. 
Kamran Ali as Member Compliance, Mr. Tariq Sultan as Member Finance 
while Mr. Mushtaq Bhatti is to be made the Member Technical.<br />
Mr. Kamran, currently the Member Legal at Ministry of Information 
Technology has previously served at PTA as DG law. Mr. Tariq Sultan is 
currently the DG Finance at PTA.<br />
One members out of three members – supposedly the member technical – is to be made the Chairman after the proper appointments.<br />
It merits mentioning here that Lahore High Court had dismissed the June 14th job ad
 for members’ PTA, however, shortlisted candidates were interviewed last
 week at PTA headquarters after Supreme Court directed the federal 
government to appoint PTA Members till Sep 16th, 2013 – despite LHC’s dismissal – based on the same job ad.<br />
Appointment of PTA members has been challenged in the courts several times. Government had to advertise the job thrice before Supreme Court finally ordered the government to speed up the process for appointment of members.<br />
Analysts fear that current appointments may also face litigation as 
government increased the number of members from two to three through a 
SRO and not through a proper amendment in Telecom Act.<br />
Others hope a smooth transition and appointments so that the industry is again put on the roll after a break of over eight months.<br />
For the reference, here’s the timeline for the happenings regarding the appointment of PTA members:<br />

If you thought that the $7.7 billion which Microsoft paid to buy Nokia,
 a company with such prestige, culture and legacy a small amount of 
money, listen to this: BlackBerry has been bought by a Canadian company 
Fairfax Financial Holding for $4.7 billion. (Still, the Canadian company
 did end up in Canadian hands.)<br />
Fairfax Financial had already held around 10% of BlackBerry’s shares 
previously. Stockholders will be receiving $9 per share as a part of 
this deal which will take the company private.<br />
The deal – which is final – is still pending some regulatory 
requirements as the parties involved will be subjected to six weeks of 
due diligence, until the 4th of November.<br />
The news might have been a bit of a surprise to hear sometime ago but not now as only yesterday we reported that Blackberry was eyeing a $1 billion loss this quarter and was cutting its workforce by 40 percent.<br />
It’s incredibly ironical as only about half a decade ago, BlackBerry 
was worth a staggering $100 billion. After the iPhone, its sales 
actually increased a bit but dived headfirst towards the ground later, a
 reaction to which is the news you’re reading right now.<br />
Prem Watsa, the Chairman and CEO of Fairfax Financial had something 
to say however: “We believe this transaction will open an exciting new 
private chapter for BlackBerry, its customers, carriers and employees,” 
he said.<br />
“We can deliver immediate value to shareholders, while we continue 
the execution of a long-term strategy in a private company with a focus 
on delivering superior and secure enterprise solutions to BlackBerry 
customers around the world.”</div>
