Yahya Khan has been appointed as Chief Financial Services Officer in Telenor Pakistan, said a statement issued by the company.
Yahya will be joining the company from 20 January 2014.
Roar Bjaerum, the outgoing CSFO, will be moving to Bangkok, Thailand as Head of Financial Services Asia for Telenor Group.
Yahya has over 18 years of Banking, supply chain management and financial consultancy experience in various industries that include companies like ICI, Engro, Unilever, PwC and AXA Life Insurance. He is currently working with J.P. Morgan in London, UK as Executive Director and has been with J.P. Morgan London since early 2007.
Yahya is a qualified Chartered accountant from PwC London and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. In addition to this, Yahya also has a Master’s degree in Operations Management from Cranfield University, UK wherein he focused on B2B, B2C connectivity and supply chain management techniques.
Roar Bjaerum has been a driving force behind the success of Easypaisa
brand. He moved to Pakistan as Head of Easypaisa in April 2010. Under
his dynamic leadership Easypaisa has grown exponentially over the years
and now holds a very strong number one position in mobile banking in
Pakistan and the third largest mobile money deployment in the world.
Easypaisa evolved under Roar’s guidance into more than just a money transfer service. It now boasts a unique saving and insurance product, another first of its kind in the world.
He will be joining his new position from 1 February 2014 and will be based in Bangkok, Thailand.
