Restructuring at Mobilink has entered in its next round where more 
employees are going to see the exit doors, most probably tomorrow 
evening. <br />

Mobilink said that its aim is to fine-tune organization’s 
productivity with right-sizing the head-count to ultimately relieve 
pressure from increasing operating expenditure, which has become a major
 concern for VimpelCom.<br />

It appears that group level brunt is now going to be borne by the 
Mobilink employees in Pakistan, which contributes major part of revenues
 for Moscow based VimpelCom group. <br />

Our well placed sources tell that  Mobilink has plans to off-load at 
least two dozen employees from finance department this time, from the 
head office and other regions. Moreover, another few dozens employees 
from technical department are also going to lose their jobs with-in next
 few weeks.<br />

Not to forget that at least 30 employees from sales department were 
shown the doors just last Friday. This was in addition to over <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2013/11/firing-spree-mobilink-lays-off-another.html" target="_blank">250 employees that were fired from Technical department</a> with-in last six months.<br />

Our sources say that restructuring has caused various positions at 
Mobilink to become redundant. For instance the finance tasks at various 
channels are now being handled by customer support people leaving 
finance guys to become almost valueless for the company.<br />

Similarly, there are other efforts being made to add more functions 
and responsibilities for some of the staff to ultimately off-load the 
remaining work-force. Outsourcing technical department was part of the 
same strategy.<br />

While there is no denying of the fact that Telecom industry is not in
 its best times these days (see financial reports of telcos for 
elaboration), however, such massive lays-off are definitely going to 
worsen the already weakening economy of the country.</div>

It has announced a new accessory called Treasure Tag that attaches to
 your keys, or wallets, or whatever to remind that you’re forgetting 
something dear.

Nokia Treasure Tags connect to your phone via NFC or Bluetooth. 
It is powered by a replaceable coin cell. Nokia Treasure Tags will be 
available in a plethora of colours (since it is made by Nokia). Each 
phone can get paired with up to four tags.

In case you and your phone get too far from the Tag, both of them
 will emit a loud beep to remind you that luck is on your side. 
<br />
Don’t own a Windows Phone? You don’t need to. The apps which pair
 with the accessory are available on iOS as well as Android so you can 
use it even if you don’t own a Windows Phone.

As for the Microsoft party, only Lumias with the Black update installed are welcome.<br />

not-so-sensible since this thing measures just 30 x 30 x 10mm in size. I
 can buy a large bundle of sticky notes for that money and use them for 
the rest of my life with ease.

LG has announced the mini version of its <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2013/08/lgs-next-flagship-g2-goes-official.html" target="_blank">G2 flagship</a>, the G2 Mini. Don’t get fooled though, this isn’t a mini just by name only.<br />

The specs are not even close in some instances to its older sibling. 
On the front, you get a 4.7 inch IPS LCD on the front, with qHD 
resolution.<br />

Beneath, a 1.2Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor can be found, accompanies with 1 GB worth RAM and 8 GB expandable storage.<br />

At the back lies an 8 megapixel camera which does 1080p videos too, coupled by a 1.3 mp HD camera at the front.<br />

The OS running on the phone is Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, customized by LG. Here are the full specs of the phone:<br />

The phone will be available starting from March for an unknown price 
tag. While it is sold as the smaller version of the G2, the mini is not 
really worthy of that title. Just like the Galaxy S4 Mini, it is a 
mid-range device with a name destined to sell millions.<br />

Until now, then, only the Z1 Compact has excelled at doing that which
 raises the question that if it is possible for smaller makers like 
Sony, why not for worldwide leaders such as Samsung and LG?</div>

DevBatch, a Pakistani enterprise mobility company, has been chosen by
 the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) to provide integrated solutions
 for mobile and web software solution, said a statement.<br />

After a rigorous selection process which included various 
international players, DevBatch was awarded these projects by NRZ, it 
was announced.<br />

The first project is to develop a website for NRZ’s passengers to 
reserve and buy train tickets online. This website will aim to provide 
NRZ’s passengers a simple, convenient and swift way of buying railway 
tickets.<br />

The Pakistan based IT company will also work to develop back-office 
software for 8 to 10 levels of NRZ hierarchy. The software will assist

 easier for NRZ’s customers DevBatch will develop mobile apps for ticket
 collectors to issue and print tickets on the train carriages on and off
 station.<br />

Commenting on winning these projects, DevBatch’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Waqas Pitafi said, <i>“We
 are very excited to have won these projects amid touch competition from
 international competitors. DevBatch is representing Pakistan at the 
world stage and we are proud to have boosted Pakistan’s image in the 
global Information Technology (IT) industry.” </i><br />

Hardware required for the development of these solutions will be provided by a local vendor located in Harare, Zimbabwe.<br />

At a time when Information Memorandum for 3G auction is about to get 
released and auction for next generation licenses is just around the 
edge, the appointment of Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Dr. Ismail Shah has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court.<br />

Petition comes from Mr. Nasim Arshad Rana through his counsel 
Barrister Gohal Ali contending that appointment of Dr. Ismail Shah was 
against PTA’s act.<br />

Not to mention, Mr. Nasim Arshad was also contesting for the chairmanship of PTA, which was bestowed to Dr. Ismail Shah when <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2013/09/sc-rejects-govts-request-orders-to.html" target="_blank">Supreme Court had directed the government</a> to appoint chairman at earliest to <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2013/09/sc-rejects-govts-request-orders-to.html" target="_blank">urgently peruse the auction of next-gen licenses</a> in the country.<br />

In his petition, Mr. Nasim Arshad Rana cited Federation of Pakistan, Secretary Establishment, and Chairman PTA as respondents.<br />

Petition argued that chairman PTA could not be appointed without appointing the required numbers of members of PTA.<br />

It maybe recalled that Member Technical wasn’t appointed when Dr.

The counsel maintained that this appointment is also against the 
directions of Supreme Court since the apex court had instructed to 
appoint the heads of all semi-government organisations through a 
competent commission.<br />

Therefore, the petition, prayed the court to declare the appointment of Chairman PTA as null and void.</div>

The battle for everything slim is out there everywhere, whether in

 the slimmest phone in the worldwide, wrongfully. This time though, the 
claim isn’t false.<br />

Gionee, a young and aspiring handset maker from — as you expected —  
China. Apparently, the Chinese have been taking multiple strides in all 
kinds of technology lately and the Elife S5.5 (named after its 
most-popular spec) is a prime example of it.<br />

A duo of 13 and 5 megapixel cameras can be found at the front and back respectively. A 2,300 mAh battery powers the phone.<br />

Not much is known as for specs now except that the phone is available
 for $370 on pre-order and will be available worldwide. Here’s the
