DevBatch, a Pakistani enterprise mobility company, has been chosen by
 the National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) to provide integrated solutions
 for mobile and web software solution, said a statement.<br />

After a rigorous selection process which included various 
international players, DevBatch was awarded these projects by NRZ, it 
was announced.<br />

The first project is to develop a website for NRZ’s passengers to 
reserve and buy train tickets online. This website will aim to provide 
NRZ’s passengers a simple, convenient and swift way of buying railway 
tickets.<br />

The Pakistan based IT company will also work to develop back-office 
software for 8 to 10 levels of NRZ hierarchy. The software will assist 
NRZ to manage operations and finances related to ticketing. To make life
 easier for NRZ’s customers DevBatch will develop mobile apps for ticket
 collectors to issue and print tickets on the train carriages on and off
 station.<br />

Commenting on winning these projects, DevBatch’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Waqas Pitafi said, <i>“We
 are very excited to have won these projects amid touch competition from
 international competitors. DevBatch is representing Pakistan at the 
world stage and we are proud to have boosted Pakistan’s image in the 
global Information Technology (IT) industry.” </i><br />

Hardware required for the development of these solutions will be provided by a local vendor located in Harare, Zimbabwe.<br />

At a time when Information Memorandum for 3G auction is about to get 
released and auction for next generation licenses is just around the 
edge, the appointment of Chairman of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority Dr. Ismail Shah has been challenged in the Islamabad High Court.<br />

Petition comes from Mr. Nasim Arshad Rana through his counsel 
Barrister Gohal Ali contending that appointment of Dr. Ismail Shah was 
against PTA’s act.<br />

Not to mention, Mr. Nasim Arshad was also contesting for the chairmanship of PTA, which was bestowed to Dr. Ismail Shah when <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2013/09/sc-rejects-govts-request-orders-to.html" target="_blank">Supreme Court had directed the government</a> to appoint chairman at earliest to <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2013/09/sc-rejects-govts-request-orders-to.html" target="_blank">urgently peruse the auction of next-gen licenses</a> in the country.<br />

In his petition, Mr. Nasim Arshad Rana cited Federation of Pakistan, Secretary Establishment, and Chairman PTA as respondents.<br />

Petition argued that chairman PTA could not be appointed without appointing the required numbers of members of PTA.<br />

It maybe recalled that Member Technical wasn’t appointed when Dr. 
Ismail Shah was made the chairman. In fact the slot for member technical
 is still vacant.<br />

The counsel maintained that this appointment is also against the 
directions of Supreme Court since the apex court had instructed to 
appoint the heads of all semi-government organisations through a 
competent commission.<br />

Therefore, the petition, prayed the court to declare the appointment of Chairman PTA as null and void.</div>

The battle for everything slim is out there everywhere, whether in

 the slimmest phone in the worldwide, wrongfully. This time though, the 
claim isn’t false.<br />

Gionee, a young and aspiring handset maker from — as you expected —  
China. Apparently, the Chinese have been taking multiple strides in all 
kinds of technology lately and the Elife S5.5 (named after its 
most-popular spec) is a prime example of it.<br />

The phone is a mind-blowing 0.25mm thinner than its previous competitor, standing at just 5.5mm.<br />

processor with 2 GB worth RAM.<br />

A duo of 13 and 5 megapixel cameras can be found at the front and back respectively. A 2,300 mAh battery powers the phone.<br />

Not much is known as for specs now except that the phone is available
 for $370 on pre-order and will be available worldwide. Here’s the 
hoping that the neighbours will bring it here too.</div>

Acquiring Instagram less than a year ago for $1 billion has 
apparently not fulfilled Facebook’s hunger for highly-prized social 
networks, as the company announces that it will be buying the 
widely-acclaimed instant-messaging app Whatsapp for a mind-blowing $16 
billion. (That’s $9 billion more for what Microsoft paid for Nokia, just
 in case you were wondering for a company that has only 50 employees).<br />

Whatsapp will continue to operate independently after the deal is closed, and won’t be merged with Facebook’s companion apps.<br />

Facebook will be co-operating with Whatsapp to make it grow further in the future.<br />

Given Facebook’s lust for ads, it is quite relieving to hear that the
 app won’t be interrupted with any of them whatsoever, as confirmed by 
Whatsapp CEO Jan Koum. We are not so sure whether that will the case, 
for say, five years later.<br />

Whatsapp is already a giant in its own right, with 450 million users 
monthly active users, of which 70% are daily active users too. And with 1
 million people signing up everyday, it is growing blazingly fast. The 
news also comes less than a week after <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2014/02/viber-sold-out-for-900-million-to-japan.html" target="_blank">Viber got acquired for less than a billion dollars</a>.<br />

Instead, money will be made based on how many people use the app. It currently charges an annual subscription fee $1 per user.<br />
