Pakistan government is making all possible efforts to bring in new 
operators for participation in expected 3G auction that is planned 
with-in next couple of months.<br />

Anusha Rehman, Minister for IT and Telecom and Dr. Ismail Shah, 
Chairman, Pakistan Telecommunication Authority are on their visits to 
Middle Eastern and European markets to arrange road-shows for 3G auction
 in Pakistan.<br />

Anusha Rehman visited Qatar
 and met Qatari regulator and telecom operators to invite them for 
participation in Pakistan’s next-gen license auction. Similarly Dr. 
Ismail Shah met with Saudi regulator and telecom operators in Saudi 
Arabia to convince them about the potential that Pakistani market bears 
for telecom players with next-gen telecom services.<br />

Dr. Ismail Shah, according to <a href="http://www.arabnews.com/news/525921" target="_blank">Arab News</a>,
 first time hinted that a 1800Mhz 4G license – in addition to 2100 Mhz 
3g licenses – might also go on for auction. 1800Mhz is considered a rich
 spectrum for LTE deployments, making it extremely viable for the 
investors to cap the untapped broadband market of Pakistan.<br />

Chairman of Board of Saudi Telecom, Abdulaziz A. Alsugair, during his

Pakistan has currently mere 2 percent broadband penetration with less than 3 million subscribers. <a href="http://rexhacker.blogspot.com/2014/01/3g-can-trigger-pakistans-economy-by.html" target="_blank">Estimates suggest</a>
 that with 3G and 4G networks the number of broadband subscribers can 
cross 20 million mark in just less than three years. This translates to 
over Rs. 50 billion in quarterly revenues per telco by 2018 or double 
the revenues of what the largest telecom operator is currently 
generating in Pakistan now.<br />

Dr. Ismail Shah and Anusha Rehman has plans to visit Turkey and UK during this week.<br />

Next-gen telecom licenses are being planned for auction during March-April 2014.<br />

Government is intending to maximize the money generated through 
auction by making sure that new foreign operators also take part in the 
auction.<br />

At least four operators in Pakistan namely Telenor Pakistan, 
Mobilink, Ufone and Zong of China Mobile have already shown interest in 
the auction.</div>

 Qadir, Member (Telecom) and representatives from Ministry of law, PTA, 
FIA and representative of ISPAK, PASHA and Barrister Zahid Jamil were

The objective of the meeting was to discuss the final draft of The 
Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill before its submission to the

This cyber crime bill was long pending as country was running without
 any legislation available for the crimes committed over internet.<br />

NR3C – a law enforcement agency that works under FIA and look after 
cyber crimes in the country — will be empowered to deal with all cyber 
crimes once the much-awaited Electronic Crime Bill is passed.<br />

Currently NR3C relies on Pakistan Penal Code and various other 
regulations that don’t give the agency enough ability to peruse cyber 
crimes.<br />

It must be noted that after Cyber Crime bill is passed, masses are 
likely to remain unsafe. As only law is not not we require in Pakistan, 
instead awareness amongst the masses and more vigilance from NR3C and 
its collaboration with internet companies is mandatory to minimize the 
chances of Cyber Crimes in the country.</div>

This was not the first time when Tesco has fallen victim to cyber 
thieves. In 2013, Tesco came under a similar attack when hundreds of 
Tesco Clubcard users found their online accounts had been compromised.<br />

website, where an XSS flaw left customers at risk of having their 
accounts hijacked.</div>

In a blog post, the security researcher <a href="http://www.troyhunt.com/2014/02/the-tesco-hack-heres-how-it-probably.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Troy Hunt</a>, who previously claimed that Tesco was sending passwords in plain text via email, criticized the giant and said, "<i>I
 would not for a moment assume that the extent of the damage is only a 
couple of thousand accounts, that's almost certainly only the tip of the
 iceberg.</i>"</div>

Earlier this month, Tesco accidentally revealed hundreds of customer 
email addresses as it attempted to apologize for a pricing error by 
including all recipients’ email addresses in the ‘to’ field, which meant
 they were seen by all those receiving the message, that’s a humble

Also during last Christmas Holidays, the massive data breach occurred at TARGET in
 which over 40 million Credit & Debit cards were stolen that used to
 pay for purchases at its 1500 stores nationwide in the U.S.</div>

The customers are advised to use a different password for every single 
online account which they use, because you can’t always put your 
security into the head of service providers. It’s your own concern in 
protecting ourselves by not using the same password combinations or 
using passwords that are easy to second guess. Rather, use a 
pass-phrases that include lower case, upper case, numbers, special 
symbols which will also help you increase the complexity and easily 
re-memorable.</div>
