The Minister of State for IT, Ms. Anusha Rahman chaired a meeting to 
review the progress of PSDP IT Project regarding the deployment of 
e-office system for at least 28 federal ministries. The meeting was 
attended by Additional Secretary (IT), Azmat Ali Ranjha, DG (PCB) and 
senior officials of MoIT and PCB. <br />

DG (PCB) apprised the Minister regarding the progress of e-office 
project at length. In this regard, multiple teams have been constituted 
in accordance with the nature of tasks and relevant to the human 
resource expertise.

The DG (PCB) told the minister that acquisition of Data Centre 
Facility for e-Office Hosting, signing of contract for e-office and 
middle software with the vendors, gathering and analysis of ministries 
for configuration of basic parameters for the said system has already 
completed.

The Federal Ministries/Divisions have nominated their Focal 
Persons to liaison with PCB team for the implementation of the system 
simultaneously in their respective Ministries/Divisions. Moreover, above
 75% network connectivity of Federal Ministries/Divisions through 
Optical Fiber Ring has been tested successfully.

The master trainers are imparting the capacity building training 
to the trainers who will further train the employees of the Federal 
Government on e-office system to cater optimum results. The e-office 
system is already functional in Prime Minister Office, National Assembly
 Secretariat and Ministry of Information Technology.

The Minister directed to establish an IT Service Management Cell 
to register and address the issues of the end users of the system. She 
further expressed that the said system will be a key tool to ensure 
efficiency, accuracy, effectiveness, good governance, transparency, and 
accountability in decision making.
<br />
The Minister further added that the indigenous technological 
industry has been utilized for the development and implementation of 
e-office system to encourage the local industry and to maximize the 
usage of local IT HR as per the vision of the present government.</div>

PTCL has announced that it will offer free EVO devices to all DSL subscribers as a backup connection.<br />

There will be no device charges, however, a monthly line rent of Rs. 500 will apply for 3.1Mbps speed with 10GB monthly limit.<br />

This offer can be especially beneficial for DSL broadband subscribers who want connectivity while on the go as well.<br />

DSL package as per customer requirement. However, once subscribed, Rs 
1,000 will be charged in case of disconnection of Evo Package on 
customer request before lapse of 12 months since purchase.<br />

Panasonic has announced the world’s first interchangeable lens 
mirrorless camera that can record 4K videos. The DMC-GH4 comes with a 
16.05 megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor with a new Venus Engine Image 
processor that promise great stills.<br />
But it’s the video department which is the star of the show. The 
DMC-GH4 can shoot in Cinema 4K resolution of 4096 x 2160 pixels at 24 
fps or QFHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at 30 fps and 100Mbps 
bitrate.<br />

The camera also capture 40 RAW images in burst mode at 12 fps (or 100

dust-proof design, as well as a gripping design promise extra bit of 
reliability.<br />
The DMC-GH4 further houses a pop-up flash, a 2360K dot OLED EVF and a
 3 inch OLED display. Autofocus speeds are also faster than its 
predecessors at 0.07 seconds while the shutter longevity is will make it
 live for at least 200,000 shots.<br />
Wi-Fi, NFC and HDMI transfers are supported. Battery life is quoted 
at 500 shots. For shooting some professional stuff, you’ll need at least
 a UH3 Class 3 SD card because anything lesser is a no-go.<br />
Pricing and availability details are unavailable right now but the 
DMC-GH4 can play an important role in elevating 4K to the masses.</div>

Local mobile phones distributor, <strong>United Mobile</strong> launched
 its latest and most expensive android smartphone yet — the Voice X5, 
the first smartphone from the United Mobile to feature an octa-core 
processor in Pakistan.<br />

X5 features a large 5-inch OGS crystal display, 1080p screen 
resolution and 440ppi pixel density. As compared to other smartphones by
 voice it has a better build quality with a sleek and stylish design, 
however it is strikingly similar to Xiamoi MI-2 .<br />

As I mentioned earlier this phone is packed with an octa-core 
processor, we are not sure about the actual performance but clocked at 
1.7GHz it will surely beat the competition. The phones comes with 2GB of
 RAM and 16GB internal storage with an option to expand storage up to 
32GB.<br />

Voice X5 also features 13-megapixel primary camera with dual-LED flash and 5-megapixel secondary camera for video calling.<br />

Other notable features include Dual SIM functionality, NFC and USB on the go, so you can also use your 3G dongle with it.<br />

All the specifications seems very nice on the paper but the 2000mAh 
battery is the deal breaker. The company claims that their battery 
saving technology will help you get this phone running for a single day 
but I guess power users will have to charge the device multiple times a 
day.<br />

Voice X5 comes with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of the box, when asked
 about future upgrades we were shocked to hear that this phone won’t get
 any OS updates officially.<br />

This phone is available with one year warranty of United Mobile all 
over Pakistan and comes with a hefty price tag of Rs. 39,000.<br />

everything tech, Steve Wozniak thinks that Apple should also go Android.<br />

He said that people are known for showering their love for Apple and they’ll flock to buy Apple’s phone in large numbers too.<br />

secondary phone market,” he said. “We could compete very well. People

Of course, that simply sounds impossible especially it is iOS itself 
that makes Apple so distinctive. Wouldn’t it be a tough thing to see an 
Apple product crash more often?<br />

Wozniak also doesn’t think that Apple has lost its “cool” factor just
 yet as the company prepares itself to introduce “new product 
categories” in the near future.<br />

He remained a critic of Samsung however. “If you have something 
really good, don’t change it; don’t screw it up,” the lost co-founder 
said. “You pick up a Samsung phone and say smile and it takes a picture,
 but how much innovation is that? That’s just throwing in a lot of 
features. People don’t really choose their smartphones based on 
features”.</div>
