Punjab Information Technology Board has developed and deployed new 
Ticket Charging System for Traffic Violations that uses Android phones 
and Bluetooth Printer to get the job done.<br />

With this new system, Police Officers will be able to charge traffic violation tickets on the spot.<br />

Upon a violation, Police Officer will enter driver’s license number 
in an Android app to match the number with the central database for 
authenticity. After authentication the type of violation is input in the
 system to ultimately get a printed ticket through bluetooth enabled 
portable printer.<br />

Driver can pay the ticket charges to get the license back.<br />

With the deployment of this new system, the individual log of 
violations against each driver can be maintained. Moreover, the flow of 
violations – on a whole – can also be determined to better understand 
the challenges faced by drivers on the road.<br />

This new electronic system of charging tickets will not only speed-up
 the whole process, but will bring in more transparency to once 
notorious traffic ticketing system.</div>

Japanese Electronics maker, Sony, has launched the world’s first pen 
drive, which can be connected to your Android smartphone or tablet.<br />

This new drive is a “2-in-1 device”, with MicroUSB and standard 
USB2.0 plugs into a tiny package, allowing users to connect it with both
 desktop computers and smartphones.<br />

It is devised to grant flexibility to the Android users by making the
 file transfer between mobile devices simple and brisk, without the 
requisite of any Wireless Connectivity.<br />

In order to make it work with your device, your phone must need to 
run Android 4.0 or higher since it is explicitly intended for devices 
with Android’s On The Go (OTG) connectivity, which is usual in most 
phones running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above.<br />

It will work without any added drivers, however it comes with an app which is available to download from Google Play Store.<br />

“These new drives combine convenience, peace of mind and performance

consumer media marketing – said.<br />

These Dual-USB pen drives have a Black base, but their locking caps 
are available in three different colors including white, black and blue,
 with the capacities 8, 16 and 32GB.<br />

According to Sony, the flash drives will hit global markets in January next year.<br />

 launched by two students from the Institute of Business Administration 
(IBA) named Pakistan News Cloud.<br />

As the name suggests “Pakistan News cloud” is an app that will gather
 news about Pakistan on a single platform for you. This app aims to 
collect Pakistan related news from the internet and compiles them on the
 user’s Android phone, thus a best means to cater all and best for 
Pakistani news followers.<br />

App is developed — under a support of IBA incubation centre — by 
Asadullah and Imran Leghari, currently studying at Institute of Business
 Administration.<br />

Pakistan News Cloud is lightweight and simply accessible app that 
facilitates users to browse through Pakistan News, sports news, science 
and technology news along with business, entertainment and international
 news stuff.<br />

Now news searchers could get rid off by wasting time on bulky user interface and several forms of signup at different sites.<br />

Pakistani professionals have been making massive inroads in the regional and global markets over the the past few years.<br />

ICH Policy to be Reviewed by December 31st: Chairman PTA

ICH Policy, under which all international traffic is terminated 
through PTCL and revenues are shared by 14 LDI operators based on their 
pre-ICH market share, is to be re-visited by IT Ministry by December 
31st, 2013, said Dr. Ismail Shah, Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication 
Authority.<br />

As per a directive from PTA that was based on ICH Policy, the 
authority had asked all LDI operators to not to terminate international 
incoming traffic on their networks. Instead, PTCL was authorized to 
bring Pakistan’s international incoming traffic on behalf of all 
operators.<br />

Moreover, ASR and APC rates were also revised with the implementation of ICH.<br />

The new international termination rate set by the PTA was $0.088 per minute, an increase of approximately four hundred percent over the competitive market rate of approximately $0.02 per minute that existed prior to the ICH agreement.<br />

Dr. Ismail Shah in a TV show on Dunya TV yesterday said that IT 
Ministry going to thoroughly analyse the ICH policy and ASR rates.<br />

He said that after proper analysis, IT Ministry might revise ASR and 
APC or may reverse whole ICH as a policy altogether after December 31st,

14 Long Distance and International operators had bribed former Prime 
Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, former President Mr. Asif Ali Zardari and 
then secretary IT, revealed Mr. Wahaj-us-Siraj, in a TV show on Dunya TV
 yesterday.<br />

Mr. Wahaj-us-Siraj, CEO at Nayatel/Micronet and Convener of ISPAK, 
said that a sum of Rs. 800 Million was pooled from LDI operators to 
bribe then Prime Minister, then President and then Secretary IT Mr. 
Farooq Awan to get ICH implemented in the country.<br />

It merits mentioning here that CCP had made all its efforts to stop ICH due to its anti-competitive nature but Ministry of IT approved the policy directive for implementation of ICH.<br />

Mr. Wahaj further claimed that these government officials were 
regularly receiving bribe money of Rs. 100 to 150 million per month from
 LDI operators.<br />

Mr. Wahaj maintained that then government wanted to achieve two 
targets; one was bribe money while another goal was to strengthen grey 
mafia which had more incentive (read margins) for terminating grey 
traffic into Pakistan after ICH.<br />

Due to ICH, rates for international incoming calls to Pakistan surged by 300 to 800 percent. Operators, in return, earned 300 percent more revenues from international traffic.<br />

Government had then justified the ICH by claiming that national 
exchequer will be benefited with more tax money through ICH, however, 
facts suggest that Pakistan made less money for exchequer after ICH due 
to decrease in international traffic from 1.9 billion minutes per month 
(before ICH) to just 400 million minutes per month (today).</div>
