Upaisa, the newly launched branchless banking service from Ufone, is 
coming with array of industry first service including Debit Card for its
 customers mainly the wallet account holders, Mobile App for retail 
agent and customers and E-ticketing services of different buses and 
airlines, this was stated by Taimur Cheema, GM Mobile Financial 
Services-Ufone, during a press briefing in Karachi.<br />
All these facilities and services will be made available to customers
 in next few weeks which will help them getting benefits of advance 
features of branchless banking through Upaisa.<br />
The wallet opening process has been made convenient. Furthermore, 
there has been innovation in pricing via reduction in charging slabs 
making it simpler for customers and Agents to remember.<br />
Debit Cards and Mobile Apps are being introduced first time by any 
operators at such initial stage of its service in the whole industry, 
which is a landmark achievement for the company to attract its customers
 at maximum level.<br />
Cheema also highlighted that “industry first Debit Card will also be 
introduced by Upaisa powered by Union Pay. Using this debit card 
customers will not only be able to withdraw cash from ATMs but will also
 be able to do transactions on POS.<br />
Ufone is positive that this sector has a lot of potential and 
exceptional services, if offered, will help in gaining more customer 
confidence for mobile banking. By providing excellent services and to 
further promote branchless banking.<br />

Upaisa’s future development plans include as mentioned by Mr. Cheema,
 “We are working on developing a mobile application for agents that can 
help perform transactions, open accounts and for record keeping of 
transactions”<br />
“A similar mobile application is also under development for customers
 through which they will be able to perform transactions, check their 
account balance, account history, money transfer, utility bill payments 
and Uload without visiting the retailer.”, said Mr. Cheema<br />
Also, Ufone plans to introduce the e-ticketing service for 
transportation companies to offer more convenience to customers”. “We 
are also looking forward to adding more merchants to our network to 
broaden horizons for our customers” added Cheema .<br />
Upaisa is the sixth services of branchless banking in the country 
whereas it is fourth operator which started its services in June 2013.<br />

<b>Upaisa Crosses Rs 3 Billion Worth of Transactions</b></h4>
Upaisa, during the press conference, announced that it achieved 
Rupees 3.1 billion transaction in a very short span of time. As per 
Upaisa, a total of 912,000 transactions have been made including 601,000
 financial transactions.<br />
With the largest agents’ network of 9, 224 agents at the time of 
launch nationwide, Upaisa aim to provide its users convenience and easy 
accessibility without any restriction of time and place.</div>

 had topped the Mobile malware family, affecting the total of 64% of the

the influence of each malware in making Android based phones, a

FAKEINST malware is generally disguised as legitimate applications, 
and are known to be premium service abusers — sending costly text 
messages to services without a user’s permission and incurring high 
costs as a result.<br />
OPFAKE is similar to FAKEINST, and also mimics legitimate apps — but 
one variant, ANDROIDOS_OPFAKE.CTD, opens HTML files that ask users to 
download malicious files, as well as performing standard risky 
activities including premium service abuse.<br />
The threat to mobile devices is not limited to personal data theft 
and adware, however, Trend Micro says that banking transactions 
performed on a smartphone or tablet are at increased risk too.<br />

The folks at KnowRoaming had developed a smart sticker that can be 
applied on the SIM card; it automatically connects you to your local 
mobile network when roaming internationally.<br />

requires an application for its operation.<br />
For now, the application is available for iOS and Android, which 
grants you to directly manage and add funds to your account (using a 
credit card), choose your local network, manage your numbers, and keep 
track of how much you are spending and saving. The app also lets you 
check local rates before you connect. You also have the option of 
purchasing a local number to make it easier for people in that country 
to call you.<br />
This sounds like some sorcery, but there is an imperative that will 
put some people off. Your Android or iOS phone needs to be unlocked for 
KnowRoaming to work, besides, the Smart sticker doesn’t wave off the

The grey trafficking monitoring equipment installed earlier this 
month, after formal testing, was formally launched by the State Minister
 IT, Ms. Anusha Rahman yesterday at PTA Head Quarter, accompanied by 
Secretary IT, Mr. Akhlaq Ahmed Tarar, Chairman PTA, Dr. Ismail Shah and 
other officials of the Authority & Ministry of IT.<br />
Talking on the occasion Minister of State for IT, Ms. Anusha Rahman 
apprised the Acting Chairman about the focus of the current government 
to curb the menace of grey traffic and as a result where of, the state 
of the art equipment now in place, should be efficiently and effectively
 used to block all illegitimate IPs, being used for grey trafficking, 
causing a huge loss of revenue to the government exchequer.<br />
Not only that the government desires to block grey traffic but also 
wants to ensure that all these miscreants, engaged in these illegal 
activities are caught, said a statement issued on the occasion.<br />
Henceforth, in view of the above direction of the Honorable Prime 
Minister of Pakistan, PTA must take radical steps not only to block IPs 
involved in bringing in illegitimate traffic but also to set up a 
vigilance and enforcement mechanism, coupled with a proper call centre 
designated to receive complaints in this regard, said the statement.<br />
A public awareness campaign should also be launched by PTA in this respect accordingly.<br />
The State Minister further directed PTA to build SOP’s to verify 
legitimacy of IPs, those already existing on ‘White List’. Therefore, 
physical audit and ground verification of the particulars of IP users on
 ‘White List’ must be done within the next three days so as to ensure 
that only legally approved and verified IP list is maintained under the 
signature of the current authority.<br />
Acting Chairman, PTA assured the Ministry of IT, PTA’s full support 
and commitment towards curbing grey traffic and that every step would be
 taken that efficient and transparent mechanism is deployed for 
producing favorable results.</div>
