Most of the mobile phone manufacturers nowadays neglect the design 
front of their cheaper models which is, of course, expected. Nokia has 
been guilty of doing that too but not with the new Nokia 515.<br />
Nokia 515 is possibly the best-looking featurephone and doesn’t arrive exactly cheap either.<br />
The design of the Nokia 515 is quite sleek and seems to have taken 
cues from both the Lumias and the HTC One. It is made of a single piece 
of sandblasted and anodised aluminium. Like the other cheap Nokia 
phones, it is also a bit boxy. The display is slightly curved and 
astonishingly, features Gorilla Glass 2. It isn’t even a touchscreen.<br />
On the front, you have a 2.4 inch QVGA display and a numeric 
keyboard. Around the back though, you have a 5 megapixel camera with LED
 Flash.<br />
The sides incorporates volume keys.<br />
There will be a dual-sim version of the 515 too. The battery life is quoted at 38 days worth standby.<br />
And then lastly, the price. The phone will be available in Q3 of 2013
 for a tough-to-swallow price-tag of $150. For that, you can even get a 
dual-core smartphone nowadays which means that Nokia might face a tough 
time selling this phone. Still, given the number of people who aren’t in
 the smartphone circle yet, the 515 may not be failure after all.<br />

As the announcement of the second iteration of iPad Mini draws near, 
the tablet-makers have all started to throw their best efforts into the 
competition. The LG G Pad 8.3 is the latest effort from LG and borrows 
some design knowledge from the company’s latest G2 flagship.<br />
The tablet offers an 8.3 inch display upfront, with a superb 
resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels meaning pixel density of 273ppi. The G 
Pad 8.3 is just 8.33mm thick and 338g heavy (what coincidence!).<br />
Under the hood, you get a 1.7Ghz quad-core SnapDragon 600 processor 
with 2 GB RAM. The amount of storage is set at 16 GB of expandable 
storage.<br />
Around the back, sits a 5 megapixel camera. There’s also a 1.3 
megapixel camera on the front. There’s a 4600 mAh battery to power the 
tablet up which might dazzle when looked upon initially, but is lesser 
than the norm.<br />
The OS running on the tablet is Android 4.2.2, which as you would 
expect, is customized. It comes with its own bag of software tricks. 
QPair pairs the tablet with your phone and allows you to takes phone 
calls and messages directly on it. QSlide allows 3 apps to run onscreen 
at once. KnockON turns the tablet on and off by double-tapping.<br />

Huawei has announced a new waterproof smartphone for the masses with 
the Honor 3. The phone comes with high-end specs but still comes with 
competitive pricing which means it might give other waterproof 
smartphones a bit of competition.<br />
Design-wise, we see nothing ordinary here. You get a 4.7 inch display
 with HD resolution at front. Beneath the display, you have a quad-core 
processor running on Huawei’s own K3V2E chipset. Alongside it, you have 2
 GBs of RAM with 8 GB internal storage which also happens to be 
expandable.<br />
At the back, you have a 13 megapixel camera with 1080p video. Here are the full specs of the Huawei Honor 3:<br />

Local support and interest is one of the most primary requirements 
when it comes to the brewing and upbringing of any market in a region.<br />
So far in our smartphone market, quite a few successful names have 
popped up including some which have are already dominating a large 
portion of the national industry. Voice is one of the few successful 
ones too but so far, its efforts were rather obscured or diminished 
behind those by others.<br />
Now however, the company has restarted itself. It’s a new awakening 
and under its parent company United Mobile, which brings with it loads 
of valuable insight, is now seeking to capture some serious marketshare.
 It has also announced some new smartphones.<br />

<span style="font-weight: bold;">The Devices</span></h4>
The initial line-up of this rekindling comprises:<br />
<ul>

<li>Voice V70 quad-core (Price: 20,500/-)</li>
<li>V60 quad-core (Price: 19,000/-)</li>
<li>V30 dual-core (Price: 11,500/-)</li>
</ul>
</li>
<li>Featurephones:
<ul>
<li>V140 (Price: 2,250/-)</li>
<li>V150</li>
<li>and V160 (Price: 2,750/-)</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
The last three of these are Featurephones. As for the former three, 
the V70 is undoubtedly the flagship with the V60 held back only by a 
smaller screen. The rest of the package is virtually the same.<br />
Both of the phones come with quad-core Cortex A7 processors (of 
unknown chipset, most possibly MediaTek) clocked at 1.2Ghz, 12 megapixel
 cameras, 1 GB of RAM and 2000+ mAh batteries and cost 20,500 and 19,000
 PKR respectively.<br />
As for the V30, it comes with a 4 inch display, a dual-core 
processor, 512 MB RAM and an 8 megapixel camera. The price is almost 
half as those of its brethren at Rs.11,500. Android Jelly Bean is 
installed on all of the phones. Meanwhile the remaining three devices 
are all pretty ordinary stuff with nothing outstanding except for the 
price.<br />
Overall, the three smartphones look quite promising and more or less the same package as those of its nemesis.<br />
Again, as is the case with companies like these, the three 
smartphones come in really attractive prices. The specs are also quite 
reminiscent to the ones of its QMobile counterparts. But still, when all
 said and done, the question remains: will Voice Mobile deprive QMobile 
of its undisputed number 1 spot in our local industry?<br />
With revenues of 761 million PKR last year, QMobile sits comfortably 
there as the Samsung of the Pakistani market but then again, 2 years 
ago, was the market situation even closer to what it is right now? We’ll
 have to give them some time for that but the road to success surely 
won’t be easy.<br />
The company’s goal is clear: get amongst the top 10 companies of the 
region by 2015. With a huge company looking after them with 14 years of 
experience in the market, the goal might not be totally off the picture.
 The markets of this region are also rather in their infancy than being 
properly developed.<br />
What will it look like in 2 years time? Who is there that can predict this with utter perfection? Only time will tell that.</div>

Acer hasn’t always been on the cutting-edge of smartphone technology 
but this time, they’re finally showing that they are serious. The new 
Liquid S2 which was shown off just before the IFA event is the world’s 
first phone capable of capturing 4K videos, the next generation of 
ultra-high-definition video, as well as plain old 1080p video. Not only 
that, the camera also features several other high-tech shooting modes.<br />
The phone itself is no slouch either. Boasting a giant 6 inch Full HD
 display, the Liquid S2 also features a 2.2Ghz quad-core SnapDragon 800 
processor under the hood. That’s accompanied by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of 
storage, expandable by up to a stunning 128 GB via microSD card slot. If
 you’re buying this phone solely for its camera, you’ll need it!<br />
Talking of camera, the unit here is of 13 megapixels. It’s a 28mm 
wide-angle lens with a BIS sensor and can take either 4K Ultra HD videos
 at 30fps or Full HD 1080p videos at 60fps. Now those are some serious 
numbers.<br />
The camera is also capable of taking 27 megapixel panoramic photos 
and 4x slow motion videos. Alongside the camera is a ring-flash, which 
as evident by the name, is LED Flash in the shape of a ring surrounding 
the lens. The front-facing camera is a 2 megapixel sensor with an 
ultra-wide BIS sensor and capable of shooting Full HD videos.<br />
The phone runs on customized Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and has a large

Acer has been outing a myriad of cheap Android and Windows devices 
for quite sometime now and the Iconia A3 is another one of that chain. 
The tablet has a 10 inch touchscreen and a quad-core processor under the
 hood.<br />
The tablet, not being in the high-end category sees a lot of 
cost-cutting steps being taken. The screen features a paltry resolution 
of 1280 x 800 pixels with pixel density of 149ppi. That’s ruthless, 
whatever you call it. The processor under the hood is also most-probably
 of MediaTek breed and the CPU tech is aging now.<br />
The back does boasts a 5 megapixel camera with Full HD video recording. Also there are Dolby Digital Plus speakers in the thing.<br />
As is customary now, the tablet comes with its own share of software 
tricks. Intellispin helps the tablet know in what way it is being used 
even when lying flat, so as to match the screen orientation. Touch 
WakeApp takes you to your favorite app right from the sleep mode.<br />
