Acer hasn’t always been on the cutting-edge of smartphone technology 
but this time, they’re finally showing that they are serious. The new 
Liquid S2 which was shown off just before the IFA event is the world’s 
first phone capable of capturing 4K videos, the next generation of 
ultra-high-definition video, as well as plain old 1080p video. Not only 
that, the camera also features several other high-tech shooting modes.<br />
The phone itself is no slouch either. Boasting a giant 6 inch Full HD
 display, the Liquid S2 also features a 2.2Ghz quad-core SnapDragon 800 
processor under the hood. That’s accompanied by 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of 
storage, expandable by up to a stunning 128 GB via microSD card slot. If
 you’re buying this phone solely for its camera, you’ll need it!<br />
Talking of camera, the unit here is of 13 megapixels. It’s a 28mm 
wide-angle lens with a BIS sensor and can take either 4K Ultra HD videos
 at 30fps or Full HD 1080p videos at 60fps. Now those are some serious 
numbers.<br />
The camera is also capable of taking 27 megapixel panoramic photos 
and 4x slow motion videos. Alongside the camera is a ring-flash, which 
as evident by the name, is LED Flash in the shape of a ring surrounding 
the lens. The front-facing camera is a 2 megapixel sensor with an 
ultra-wide BIS sensor and capable of shooting Full HD videos.<br />
The phone runs on customized Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and has a large

The Acer Liquid S2 will be available in October for an unknown price 
tag. Boasting a ground-breaking camera and SnapDragon 800, we’re not

Acer has been outing a myriad of cheap Android and Windows devices 
for quite sometime now and the Iconia A3 is another one of that chain. 
The tablet has a 10 inch touchscreen and a quad-core processor under the
 hood.<br />
The tablet, not being in the high-end category sees a lot of 
cost-cutting steps being taken. The screen features a paltry resolution 
of 1280 x 800 pixels with pixel density of 149ppi. That’s ruthless, 
whatever you call it. The processor under the hood is also most-probably
 of MediaTek breed and the CPU tech is aging now.<br />
The back does boasts a 5 megapixel camera with Full HD video recording. Also there are Dolby Digital Plus speakers in the thing.<br />
As is customary now, the tablet comes with its own share of software 
tricks. Intellispin helps the tablet know in what way it is being used 
even when lying flat, so as to match the screen orientation. Touch 
WakeApp takes you to your favorite app right from the sleep mode.<br />

The tablet will cost 250 Euros or around 35K PKR. That’s a steep 
price asked for a tablet with rather subpar specs. If that price falls

Microsoft and Nokia have just announced that both companies have 
decided to enter into a transaction whereby Microsoft will purchase 
substantially all of Nokia’s Devices & Services business, license 
Nokia’s patents, and license and use Nokia’s mapping services.<br />
Under the terms of the agreement, Microsoft will pay $ 5 billion to 
purchase substantially all of Nokia’s Devices & Services business, 
and $ 2.2 billion to license Nokia’s patents, for a total transaction 
price of $ 7.2 billion in cash.<br />
Microsoft will draw upon its overseas cash resources to fund the 
transaction. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter 
of 2014, subject to approval by Nokia’s shareholders, regulatory 
approvals and other closing conditions.<br />
“It’s a bold step into the future – a win-win for employees, 
shareholders and consumers of both companies. Bringing these great teams
 together will accelerate Microsoft’s share and profits in phones, and 
strengthen the overall opportunities for both Microsoft and our partners
 across our entire family of devices and services,” said Steve Ballmer, 
Microsoft chief executive officer. “In addition to their innovation and 
strength in phones at all price points, Nokia brings proven capability 
and talent in critical areas such as hardware design and engineering, 
supply chain and manufacturing management, and hardware sales, marketing
 and distribution.”<br />
“We are excited and honored to be bringing Nokia’s incredible people,
 technologies and assets into our Microsoft family. Given our long 
partnership with Nokia and the many key Nokia leaders that are joining 
Microsoft, we anticipate a smooth transition and great execution,” 
Ballmer said. “With ongoing share growth and the synergies across 
marketing, branding and advertising, we expect this acquisition to be 
accretive to our adjusted earnings per share starting in FY15, and we 
see significant long-term revenue and profit opportunities for our 
shareholders.”<br />

position of financial strength, we can build our next chapter,” said 
Risto Siilasmaa, Chairman of the Nokia Board of Directors and, following

variety of alternatives, we believe this transaction is the best path 
forward for Nokia and its shareholders. Additionally, the deal offers 
future opportunities for many Nokia employees as part of a company with

 601 and 300 and fall in the mid-range & lower-end categories

The Desire 601 is the better of the two smartphones, in terms of 
specs. Featuring a 4.5 inch display with a respectable resolution of 540

The Desire 300 is the more lower-end smartphone of the duo but still 
comes with above average specs. The 4.3 inch display comes with 
resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. Under the hood you get 1Ghz dual-core 
SnapDragon S4 processor, 512 MB RAM and 4 GB expandable storage.<br />
Around the back is the 5 megapixel camera, this time with WVGA video 
at 30fps. The phone still comes with Blinkfeed on the software side and 
has Android 4.2.2 pre-installed.<br />

Android chief Sundar Pichai has announced via Google+ and Twitter 
that the long-awaited moment of Android’s 1 billion activations has 
finally arrived. After such a milestone, Google’s stronghold over the 
market has probably become unmatchable.<br />
“All this Android innovation is driving tremendous ecosystem momentum
 and I’m excited to share that together we’ve now passed 1 Billion 
Android device activations”, he wrote. “Huge thanks to the entire 
Android community from the hardware manufacturers, chip makers and 
carriers to the developers and content creators to all of you – our 
Android users around the world – for making this possible.”<br />
He also made full use of the moment to tease the next version of 
Android which has found a new name in “KitKat”, rather than the name Key
 Lime Pie which circulated around the web for months before being turned
 down.<br />
“On my return from Asia, I was also thrilled to find this guy waiting
 to greet me on the front lawn — love the new #AndroidKitKat statue and 
can’t wait to release the next version of the platform that is as sweet 
as the candy bar that’s one of our team’s favorites.”<br />
Yes, KitKat is named after the popular chocolate and Google has 
secured rights to that too. The OS name skips the space between the two 
parts though.<br />
An official section has been dedicated in the operating system’s official site already with a simple message accompanying it:<br />

It’s our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody.</blockquote>
And oh, a new statue has joined the existing statues of Android 
versions in GooglePlex already which looks just as mouth-watering as the
 older ones. Google has once again followed its famous tradition of 
naming OS versions after desserts in this instance.</div>

The unveiling of the iPhone is one of biggest moments of the 
industry. All previous unveilings of iPhone devices have always been 
long-awaited and this year is no different, especially since it has been
 largely expected that it will be the first instance of Apple announcing
 two phones, instead of one.<br />
Well now, confirming several rumours the company has revealed that it
 will be pulling the curtains of its next generation iPhone on September
 10. That’s almost a year later to the day the iPhone 5 crashed out – 
only 2 days less.<br />
