Hum TV Gets Hacked for Allegedly Spreading Vulgarity

Hum TV, country’s top entertainment TV channel, was last night hacked
 as a protest against the vulgarity it is alleged to spread in the 
society.<br />
This hacking incident was followed by a campaign run on social media 
against vulgarity and Hum TV. The campaign had questioned the ethical 
standards of drama channels in general and Hum TV in specific. Along 
with there went a controversial and quite explicit clip from Hum TV 
drama viral on Facebook.<br />
Hackers, who are apparently from Pakistan, clearly mentioned: “We Dont Want Vulgarity In Pakistan”.<br />
Along with the message, the hackers also put up dozens of screens of 
various Hum TV dramas and shows with fairly bold scenes for Pakistani 
standards.<br />

There are, quite literally, dozens of organizations and entities who 
have held their reservations over Facebook and its security since a long
 time and now it’s clear that even the company’s CEO isn’t completely 
safe.

Yesterday, a Palestinian hacker by the name of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/khalil.iz.sh" target="_blank">Khalil Shreateh</a>
 found a vulnerability in the social network’s coding and capitalized on
 it by writing a post on Mark Zuckerberg’s wall, disguised as Mark 
Zuckerberg.<br />
The hacker had earlier reported the bug to the Facebook authorities 
twice,  but after he got a reply telling him that “I’m sorry this is not
 a bug”, he lost patience and decided to show the world that it was.<br />
Khalil had discovered that with some kind of trick anyone could post 
onto anyone’s wall, even if target wall isn’t in the friend list of the 
user.<br />
Here’s the post from Khalil detailing the complete information on the bug and incidents revolving around it.<br />
According to Facebook regulations, hackers who inform the company 
about existing bugs are awarded $500 apiece, at least with no cap on 
maximum reward.<br />
Not in this case. Facebook declined to reward him on finding such a 
huge error and instead deactivated his Facebook account, simply because 
the hacker had violated the site’s rules and regulations of not 
intruding on someone else’s timeline. Eventually, they did activate his 
account it but not without hitches.<br />
As far as the relationship between developers and Facebook goes, it 
won’t be fair to blame the latter totally for what happened in this case
 as they’ve already rewarded around $1 million to developers over the 
past couple of years just for reporting bugs. What happened here won’t 
be doing any good to its botched image though.</div>

8XM Website Gets Hacked

8XM, Popular Pakistani music TV channel, lost the control of its 
website last night when a group of Pakistani hackers hacked and defaced 
the website.<br />
It is still unclear that why Hackers targeted the website, however, 
they did leave a message telling the admins to patch their servers.<br />
Hackers, who identify themselves as PHC, have previously hacked Pakistani websites including Geo TV, PISA and others.<br />

MQM Website Hacked by TTP In Response to Altaf Hussain's Threats

In middle of post-election drama, official website of MQM has been 
hacked by a group of hackers who call themselves “Tehrik-i-Taliban 
Pakistan”.<br />
Hackers’ group with this name of TTP has emerged for the first time, 
and this is probably the first hacking instance of the group. We are 
already in process of gathering more information about the hackers.<br />
Hackers, in their message left on MQM website, said that party leader
 – Altaf Hussain — has crossed the limits and he must not talk to the 
people of Pakistan like this.<br />
It maybe recalled that MQM leader Mr. Altaf Hussain had yesterday 
threatened to koll PTI protestors who were protesting against alleged 
rigging of Election in Karachi.<br />

“We will not let Altaf oppress the people of Karachi like
 this, you guys on basis of ethnicity are fooling people into your 
negative propaganda, nobody can ignore the fact that you’ve taken so

We are in all of your systems and very near to your <b>HQ 90 Azizababad</b>.
 Our silent sleepers are more near to you than you think, if your leader
 can order his workers to to kill innocent people of Karachi then don’t 
forget that on our single command all our sleepers will wake up and put 
up the most devastating fight you can ever imagine. Don’t make us to do 
that!”</blockquote>

Indian
 Intelligence Agency has alleged that ISI, Pakistan’s secret service, 
has successfully penetrated and snooped Indian state-owned Bharat 
Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) and also installed spyware in the telco’s 
system to take control of its entire system, say various <a href="http://www.livemint.com/Industry/ZoQivrvfFjfOJV74NGaW8K/Did-Pakistans-ISI-penetrate-BSNLs-systems.html" target="_blank">Indian publishers</a>.<br />
Indian secret agency believes that someone from Pakistan posing as 
Major Vijay from Indian Army headquarters had called up a BSNL employee 
in February this year, and followed it up by email communication with 
the staffer to obtain critical information.<br />
The home ministry is of the view that this email communication led to
 the ISI successfully installing malware on BSNL’s networks, and this 
may have contaminated the telco’s computer systems and compromised the 
integrity and security of the system.<br />
According to the report, Indian home ministry is fearing that the 
spyware might have enabled ISI to identify and access communication 
links of sensitive organizations.<br />
Furthermore, the report suggests that the same malware might have 
given Pakistan the ability to remotely monitor BSNL’s networks and 
operations, providing the ISI with the capability of disabling critical 
networks. <br />

Report – which is based on documents released by Indian secret agency – wasn’t confirmed independently by the publisher.<br />
Report said that ISI operative used VoIP spoofing to change the number when he called BSNL employee.<br />
However, it doesn’t mention if IP address of the email communication of alleged Pakistani operative was spoofed as well or not.</div>

Moreover, report doesn’t clarify that why BSNL employee didn’t notify
 his line manager before giving out sensitive information – that could 
give away controlling rights of the entire telco – to an unknown army 
officer, with whom he/she was communicating for the first time.<br />
This is not the first time that Indians have alleged Pakistan and its ISI just to spoil the names and to cover its own misdeeds.<br />
It will be interesting to mention here that Indian army and secret agencies earlier this year <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-news-from-elsewhere-23455128" target="_blank">mistook two planets</a>
 for Chinese spy drones.  Indian Army, reportedly, spent six months 
watching “Chinese spy drones” violating its air space, only to find out 
they were actually Jupiter and Venus.</div>

Aaj TV Gets Hacked, Entire Website Data Leaked Online

A Pakistani hacker, who wants to be called as H4$N4!N H4XOR, claims 
to have gained access of Aaj.TV – the official website of Aaj TV – and 
has leaked the entire website data online, including user names, 
passwords, email addresses and other private and sensitive data of the 
website.<br />
Hacker in a communication with RexHacker said that website was 
intentionally not defaced, instead just a warning email was sent to the 
webmaster, and leaked data was presented to him as a proof.<br />
Same hacker had previously defaced 8XM
 and Geo.TV. He contends that Pakistani webmasters are too lame with the
 security and these attempts should be translated as warnings to 
ultimately secure Pakistani cyber space. He urged Pakistani websites to 
be more securer.<br />
On other hands, the webmasters criticize hackers for penetrating into
 their websites without authorization and approval. They term it 
criminal activity.<br />
Hacker provided RexHacker with login information for one of Aaj 
TV’s recruitment portal (and of course the entire leaked data), a 
screen-shot of which is produced below:<br />

 – yesterday got hacked, when a hacker called Xploiter hacked the 
website and leaked the databases of the website and posted credentials 
online.
<br />
Hacker said that it took him just 17 minutes to hack into the website.<br />
The section that handles the online banking or Internet Banking of Habib Bank customers was not impacted with the hack.<br />
No customer data was compromised or leaked during the incident.<br />
14 databases belonging to the official website of Habib Bank – 
relating to the general information and front end of the website – were 
posted online with the names and tables.<br />
While explaining the flaw in bank’s website, the hacker posted following in the leaked file:<br />

A list of login credentials were also posted in the online document, 
containing username, plain password and emails. Its strange that a bank 
stores password in plain language, revealing the security level of the 
bank.<br />

Luckily, the Internet Banking section or customers’ data was not 
compromised, but considering the hack, it is high-time for the banks to 
increase their security levels.<br />

After HBL, Allied Bank Gets Hacked

After hacking and leaking database information of Habib Bank Limited, the same hacker has now hacked and defaced Allied Bank Limited, one of the largest Pakistani bank.<br />
It is still unclear if the financial information of customers was 
breached or not, however, the front-end of the Allied Bank’s website was
 pretty much hacked and defaced.<br />
Late night when users opened abl.com – bank’s official web address – 
they were greeted with a defaced page (also shown below) displaying a 
message by Xploiter – the same hacker who had penetrated into HBL’s 
website.<br />

Banks are pretty much annoyed with the hackers and argue that absence
 of cyber laws in Pakistan has given a free hand to hackers and 
exploiters. They say that law enforcement agencies are unable to stop 
and track these hackers and this is why they are freely defacing 
websites without any fear.<br />

While on the other hands, its quite serious
 that banks are unable to secure their websites and servers. As 
mentioned above, before Allied Bank, the websites of HBL and Soneri Bank were also hacked and defaced.</div>

After these hacking attempts on Banks, consumers have shown their 
serious concerns. Their trust on banks is already deteriorating.<br />
It merits mentioning here that majority of banks in Pakistan allow 
internet banking to their customers. They offer their customers to 
manage their bank accounts online through their websites. Customers are 
offered to even transfer funds to other banks.<br />

It appears that Pakistan hackers are on fire, and they have decided 
not to leave any bank. This time it is Muslim Commercial Bank or MCB.<br />
With apparent slogan of defacing Banking websites, hackers claim to 
be with the aim of securing Pakistani cyber space. They maintain that 
banks were previously warned about all the security flaws but since 
banks’ staff don’t seem to be serious with the warnings and hence 
hackers have no point but to deface their websites.<br />
Tonight, an inner page of Muslim Commercial Bank was defaced by two 
hackers who want to be called as Dr.Freak and Xploiter. We suspect – due
 to the names used – that this is the same group who had recently 
carried out defacements of HBL and ABL.<br />
However, the tone and feel of the message left on MCB’s defaced page doesn’t resemble with previous messages.<br />
It maybe recalled that earlier this week, official websites of Habib Bank and Allied Bank were hacked and defaced. Earlier on, Soneri Bank and Burj Bank were also attacked and defaced by hackers.<br />

This Time Telenor's Tameer Bank Gets Hacked

Tameer Bank, which is majorly owned and operated by Telenor Pakistan,
 was tonight hacked by Xploiter, the same hacker who has hacked and 
defaced over 4 banks in just past one week.<br />
This hacking spree over the last few days has hit almost all major 
banks of Pakistan. And the message has been quite clear: Secure the 
websites and infrastructure.<br />
It merits mentioning here that EasyPaisa, one of the largest 
branch-less banking solution in the world, is jointly operated by 
Telenor Pakistan and Tameer Bank.<br />
Exploiter once again emphasized the lack of security that resulted 
into all these hacks. While defacing the homepage of Tameer bank, hacker
 left following message:<br />

It wasn’t long ago when whole world was shocked at the revelation that NSA (National Security Agency) and FBI of United States of America has direct access to the servers of Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Skype, Yahoo, Apple and other internet companies, from where they can extract any user information at their will, without any authorization or approval required from justice and legal departments.<br />

Situation has only worsen with this new finding that FBI can remotely activate the microphones and cameras of your smartphones running Google’s Android platform and laptops without users’ consent, reported WSJ.<br />
<br />
Report said that FBI has been developing such hacking and surveillance tools for last ten years. Additionally, there are private firms which sell them such tools to spy the users. Without a doubt – as unveiled earlier – FBI has support from technology companies, such as Google, Microsoft, Apple and others.<br />
<br />
Moreover, FBI uses spyware tools to record keystrokes or almost any activity on a computer or smartphone.<br />
<br />
Report says that there are usually warrants required to undergo such surveillance on suspects, however, it argues that there were instances when FBI had recorded users’ data without any legal authorization.<br />
<br />
With plenty of criticism about NSA’s PRISM program, this new hacking and spying practices from US law enforcement agencies are going to further hike the distrust level of technology users.<br />
<br />
It merits mentioning here that there are over 900 million users with Android devices.<br />
<br />
These revelations also raise serious questions about the privacy of individuals, which is seemingly brutally murdered by American government and agencies and buried hundreds of miles down under the turf.<br />
<br />
Third world citizens are in desperate position, who had embraced these emerging technology gadgets and software for simplifying their lives, but ended up only to be watched by the American government.<br />

Our own government, which can question American government about such shameless practices, is busy doing so many other use-less things.</div>
